Car Crash Investigation

On 12/11/2018 at approximately 07:30 hours, the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the area of the Black Horse Pike (Route 40) and McKee Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.
Investigation revealed a 2009 Harrison Beverage International Truck driven by Nathanael W. Sooy, 29 of Buena was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike in the area of mm 52.8. Sooy failed to stop for stopped traffic and crashed into the rear of a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder driven by David Anderson, 47 of Atlantic City. The impact caused major/disabling damage to both vehicles blocking all westbound lanes on the Black Horse Pike.
Anderson was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Sooy was issued two summonses to include Improper Use of A Cell Phone and Careless Driving.
Westbound traffic on the Black Horse Pike between Delilah Road and McKee Avenue was detoured in for approximately 90 minutes while the scene was cleared.
Assisting at the crash scene were personnel from the Twp Of Hamilton Rescue Squad.
The crash was investigated by Ofc L. Murray.
