SLPD SWAT team assists outside agency in serving early morning search warrant for violent crimes, 2nd time in a week

This morning, the San Leandro Police Department's SWAT team executed a search warrant on behalf of the San Francisco Police Department.
Detectives from SFPD are investigating a violent robbery and tracked an involved vehicle to an address on Preda Street in San Leandro. SFPD detectives obtained a search warrant for the location and as protocol follows, delivered the order to the San Leandro Police Tactical Operations Team for execution.
At 5:00 am this morning, members from the SLPD SWAT Team converged on the location and successfully executed the search warrant. The registered owner of the involved vehicle was located and detained without incident. Detectives from the SFPD and officers from the Alameda Police Department were present and assisting in the operation. The use of the MedEvac vehicle was also included in this morning’s operation, however not utilized to execute the warrant.
"This is the second early morning operation conducted by our SLPD Tactical Operations team in a week," said San Leandro Police Lieutenant Isaac Benabou.  "Both operations were at the request of outside agencies conducting felony investigations in San Leandro."
Last week, the SLPD Tactical Operations team assisted the Los Angeles Police Department with a warrant in connection with a homicide investigation.
In both situations, the search warrants were executed perfectly and as planned. A substantial amount of research hours go into the planning of these operations to ensure they are done safely, without harm to the public, officers or the individuals involved.
