March 18th

Shoplifting – CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 5:42 pm, an officer reports a 29-year-old male from San Francisco entered CVS and selected a printer cartridge from the shelf. The male used a pair of scissors to cut the security device and then stole the item. The officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of the male and released him at the scene on a written citation.

Public Intoxication – Frannie Express Hawaiian BBQ, 11775 San Pablo Ave:
At 7:18 pm, an officer responded to a disturbance inside the restaurant. There, he contacted a 26-year-old transient male who appeared to be extremely intoxicated. Before police arrival, the male was seen by a witness exhibiting a kitchen knife while seated in the restaurant. The male was asked to leave by management but became belligerent. The male was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – Bed Bath & Beyond, 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 7:10 pm, an officer reports the victim’s sport utility vehicle was parked and locked along the east side of Bed Bath & Beyond. An unknown suspect shattered the left rear window and removed two bags containing sports equipment, miscellaneous school items, and a laptop.

Warrant Arrest – Kearney St / Wall Ave:
At 8:50 pm, an officer contacted 62-year-old female transient and found she had a misdemeanor warrant for a restraining order violation. The female was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 19th

Petty Theft – 7600 block of Potrero Ave:
At 3:54 am, officers responded to an auto burglary in progress where an unknown race male approx 6 feet tall, wearing a long black trench coat, was seen entering two different vehicles in the block. The suspect was last seen by a witness fleeing south from the 7600 block of Potrero Ave. An area search was conducted with negative results. It was later determined that both vehicles had been left unlocked.

Petty Theft – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:48 pm, an officer reports the victim’s credit card, debit card, and driver license were stolen from inside her purse by an unknown suspect at some point while she was shopping at Safeway. The victim called the bank to cancel the cards and was notified someone had already tried to use the cards at another local retail store in Richmond.

Hit & Run – Carlson Blvd / San Diego St:
At 7:59 pm, an officer responded to a hit-and-run collision with no injuries. The victim reports his pick-up was rear-ended while he was traveling south on Carlson Blvd at San Diego St. The suspect vehicle was a white late model Toyota Camry, and it was last seen continuing south on Carlson Blvd.

March 20th

Shoplifting – Walgreen’s, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 7:53 pm, an officer reports an unknown male who was confined to a motorized wheelchair entered the Walgreens store, selected three bottles of baby lotion, and left without paying.

March 21st

Auto Burglary – BurgerIM, 174 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 7:43 pm, an officer responded to the parking lot between Burger IM and Macaroni Grill for an auto burglary. An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s right rear window and took a backpack and laptop.

Fraudulent Use of an Access Card – 500 block of Lexington:
At 8:31 pm, an officer reports the victim had her credit cards and identification stolen while on BART sometime Tuesday. The victim received information today that her credit cards had been used at several locations throughout Contra Costa County totaling over $950.

Grand Theft Person – Del Norte BART, 6400 Cutting Blvd:
At 9:48 pm, an officer reports a victim was standing on San Pablo Ave in front of Del Norte BART when an unknown suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone out of his hand and ran off towards the Ohlone Greenway.

March 22nd

Auto Burglary - EC Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane:
At 8:40 pm, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unknown suspect broke the window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a purse.

Auto Burglary – Nation’s, 6060 Central Ave:
At 12:24 pm, an officer responded to the report of a Chevy HHR being burglarized. In between 11:30 and 11:50 am, an unidentified suspect broke a window and stole a purse.

March 23rd

Auto Burglary - 6900 block of Gladys Ave:
An officer reports an unknown suspect entered the locked camper shell of victim’s truck by defeating the camper shell locks, and stole gardening equipment. The burglary occurred between 7:00 pm on 3/21 and 7:00 am on 3/23.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Plumas Ave:
An officer spotted a subject who had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject, a 58-year-old Pinole man, was arrested on a Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Commercial Burglary –1500 block of S. 56th St:
An officer reported that between 6:00 pm hours Friday and 4:00 pm hours today an unknown suspect cut the lock to a parking lot gate, entered, and rummaged through two vehicles belonging to the business.

March 24th

Theft - 700 block of Pomona Ave:
At 2:50 pm, an officer responded to the report of a theft of a cell phone. Two subjects arranged to meet the victim via OfferUp. After the victim handed one of the suspects his phone, both fled on foot.

March 25th:

Auto Burglary - San Diego St./ Belmont Ave.:
At 10:47 am, an officer noticed a vehicle with a smashed window. The officer contacted the owner who reported his car was burglarized
sometime after 9:30 pm. The loss was a black jacket.

Auto Burglary – 10800 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 3:19 am, an officer responded to the report of a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. An unknown suspect smashed the window of a vehicle and stole sunglasses.
