On April 5, 2019, at about 6:54 P.M., a Milpitas Police officer attempted to stop a 2019 Toyota Corolla for making an illegal u-turn at the intersection of North Milpitas Blvd and Dixon Landing Road. The driver of the Corolla, later identified as Benny Perez, fled from the officer at a high rate of speed and drove into the parking lot of the Spinnaker Pointe Apartments, located at 231 Dixon Landing Road.
