Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Auto Burglary Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with an auto burglary that occurred on Saturday, April 20th, 2019.

At approximately 6 a.m., a vehicle parked in the 100-block of Halsey Street was broken into by a man wearing a black du-rag, brown hooded jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers and a small fanny pack. The man opened the vehicle’s door, stealing the victim’s wallet, cash and other personal property.

Detectives investigating the incident captured the below pictures of the suspect. While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him.
