NEWS RELEASE: Burglary 700 block of Bradshawe

NEWS RELEASE

Montebello, CA – On May 8, 2019, at approximately 7:46 AM officers responded to a call of a traffic collision in the 600 block of N. Leonard St. in the city of Montebello. As officers were responding, dispatch advised that the male driver of the vehicle and the female passenger exited their vehicle and fled northbound from the location.
 
Upon officer’s arrival, the female passenger was detained and later arrested without incident. The male driver refused to stop for officers and was jumping in and out of backyards in the 700 block of Bradshawe Ave. He was later located barricaded inside of a residence in the 700 block of Bradshawe Ave. refusing to come out. The homeowner was quickly evacuated and a containment of the residence and the surrounding area was established.
 
After several attempts to have the suspect surrender, Montebello Police Canine Barry was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody.
 
The male suspect was later identified as Erik Aguirre, 39 years old of Montebello. He was charged with Burglary, Resisting Arrest, and Hit & Run. Aguirre was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later transported to LA County Jail.  The female passenger was identified as Darlin Estrada, 31 years old of Los Angeles. She was arrested for narcotics violations and booked at the Montebello Police station where she was later released on an O.R. citation.
